Making a Financial Donation to SCA
We’re actively recruiting for this program; both for volunteers and recipients! Volunteers must be age 21+ and willing to undergo a background check and CPR/First Aid training (if not already certified). Please call Suffield Community Aid at (860) 668-1986 or email MSW Intern, Stephanie Silva, at intern@suffieldcommunityaid.org for more information.
Volunteers are matched with homebound residents for purposes of weekly connection and/or visitation. The mission of these programs is to help promote independence, improve quality of life and the personal well-being of isolated and homebound elders or persons with disabilities who are susceptible to loneliness, depression and/or self-neglect.
Volunteers are matched up with a Suffield resident who requests either a Friendly Visitor or Friendly Caller. The volunteer’s responsibilities include making regular (weekly or bi-weekly) home visits or calling in to check up.
